  • Biography

    Alan Cheville was born in Palo Alto California, grew up in the Panama Canal Zone, and received his degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, Houston, Texas, USA. He is currently serving at the National Science Foundation as well as being an associate professor in electrical and computer engineering at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA. His research interests include engineering education, particularly how students develop the characteristics associated with engineers. His technical specialty in electrical engineering is research ultrafast optoelectronics, specifically terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. Dr. Cheville is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Optical Society of America, and the American Society of Engineering Education.
